World Book Day 2020

What a great start to World Book Day! We had a whole school assembly to share all of the wonderful book character outfits.

Tafseer&Mysha's mum - Lovely costumes everybody looks gorgeous

Jacqui Clover - retired teacher of Canon Barnett. - It was really lovely to see so many photographs of the children and staff dressed up in their book character costumes for World book day. The wide variety of photos made me feel as if I had been in the audience when everyone shared their outfits.
I loved seeing the children’s drawings and writing as well, so if you have any more it would be great to see them on here.
All these photos brought back many happy memories of when I used to work at Canon Barnett and organised World book day events .
Well done parents for talking about book characters with your children , creating a costume with them and attaching importance to books . Reading and sharing books play such a fantastic role in your child’s language and literacy. Children learn how to construct a story from books They also learn about all the different types of writing such as the format needed to write a recipe etc.
The school is lucky to have such a dedicated staff who work hard to get the best out of the children and make learning enjoyable and fun .
